Once settled in their new home, my clients looked to upgrade their 1980’s pool and surrounds. The existing landscape had poor drainage, rough concrete and too many snake holes in the bushrock.
The design was to protect the pool from stormwater, create a spa area, reduce mowing with-in the pool area, shade protection and modernise the pool coping.
Construction started by clearing out existing Landscaping while maintaining the feature tree with increased root protection and watering. Detailed Heron block retaining walls created planter boxes, elevated platform for the spa, step rises and a main feature wall which added protection from stormwater runoff. We completed the pool surrounds using Travertine pavers as the coping with the specialised stamped concrete completed by Ogden and Sons Concreting.
One of my favourite design and features would be the elevated deck which overhangs the pools edge. Great for kids jumping in the deep end or for the ‘oldies’ who just want to get their feet wet. Gentle lighting highlights the new landscape, steps and from the underside of the deck into the pool.
It was great to complete a project using so many local contractors and suppliers on time and just before Christmas. Especially for a client who herself helps so many people in the Hawkesbury.
