This basis of this project was to upgrade the old and failing treated pine retaining walls, improve access to the front door and have a level lawn for kids to play. The landscape upgrade greatly improved the visual appearance of the property which now “has the best landscaping in the street”, Ryan Miller 2010.

Special care had to be taken to protect mature Magnolia, Grass tree and Frangipani trees. Carefully excavation was required to remove the old wall, locate and protect unmarked services and install new electrical & drainage lines.

A more modern interlock block was used to create strong and practical retaining walls. These blocks allowed to do gentle curves, 90 degree corners and detailed steps. Specialized Bullnose pavers were used for step treads with matching pavers used for pathways & stepping stones.

New low voltage garden lights were installed with-in the wall & step treads. Feature up lights highlighting the mature trees greatly set off the project at night. It also enables a safe passage to the front door.

The completed project allowed the client’s to use the family turf suppliers and complete their own planting out of the gardens. This has given the clients great personnel pride in their newly created landscape. It was a pleasure to work for a client who has had a great eye for detail which enable me to construct a project which will last for a long time to come.
